Sample Types

King’s Health Partners Head and Neck Cancer Biobank holds tissue and data from patients diagnosed at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust since 2010. There are approximately 600 cases within the collection.

 

These samples include both incisional and resection specimens collected from neoplasms and other lesions from a variety of areas within the Head and Neck region.  These include:

There are also a small number of other samples available that are not specific to head and neck disease.

King’s Health Partners Head and Neck Cancer Biobank store frozen and formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissues; frozen blood separated into plasma, buffy coat, red cells; serum and saliva.  The Head and Neck Cancer Biobank are also able to provide fresh tissue samples.
