Ellen graduated in 2017 with a BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Science from Nottingham Trent University following this she worked for a genomics company that specialised in preimplantation genetic screening and diagnosis of embryos produced through IVF. Through which she gained expertise in PCR, DNA extractions and Next Generation sequencing library preparation and data interpretation.

She then worked for Breast Cancer Now as a histopathology technician travelling across multiple sites and assisting in many research projects. Once this job came to an end she transitioned into the KHP Cancer Biobank in August 2019 as an MPN Biobank Technician and liaises with the Haematology team as well as providing support for other biobank activities.
