Pancreatic Cancer
The King’s Health Partners Pancreatic Cancer Biobank was established in 2019 to collect samples from patients undergoing treatment for pancreatic cancer at Guy’s Cancer Centre. Many of these patients may have received treatment or surgery elsewhere before coming under the care of clinicians at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.

Despite advances in most cancer survival rates, pancreatic cancer remains one of the most challenging types to treat, largely due to its tendency to be diagnosed at a late stage when treatment options are limited. This underscores the critical need for ongoing research into this aggressive disease.

The biobank currently collects blood samples and retrospective FFPE diagnostic tissue blocks, enabling the extraction of tumour DNA. These samples are combined with whole blood and PBMC DNA, along with comprehensive pathological data, patient demographics, clinical details, and follow-up information.

Applications to access the biobank’s samples or data are accepted from investigators in both academic and commercial sectors.
